Is that the hard part or the easy part?

Writer's picture: Simon ManleySimon Manley

Good morning. It's funny how this whole filming thing was initially a way to keep me busy and see if it was something that would interest me. Now, a week after filming The Tourist, I insisted on taing a break until November before I even look at the thing again. This part is difficult because regardless of how well it may go, I'm never happy, it's all doom and gloom, and I don't know my next move.

In all honesty, the shoot for The Tourist was a success in some ways and a let down in others, but despite needing to check out for a couple of weeks, I am optimistic. The cast were everything I wanted and more....I wanted them to gel, I wanted the shoot to be relaxed and I wanted to try and reward them for essentially doing me a favour. The sound let me down again, this time more of a lack of vigilance on my behalf which is very frustrating. It's redeemable for sure, but again it is extra work and a bit of a headache. However, despite all this, I have come away with ideas and some excellent footage and a brief for more footage to be shot in my own time to compliment what I have already. The shots below are just a taste of what we did, there will be more to come.

I love M being carried around as part of the crew! I hope she gets a credit! 😍 The creative process can be very fickle - can’t wait to see the results though.

She really enjoyed it. Definitely has an executive producer credit due to her. Thanks for your support Caryn. ☺️
