Pencil is up and off on it's own, making its way through various handpicked festivals. Full disclosure, it wasn't picked for the first festival it was entered into. I feel fine about that, and I'm sure there will be others it won't be picked for either. I've always stated that this first project was a win/win situation, but acceptance to a festival would the the validation on the cake. Anyhoo.........
This blog is now and open house for any work that I have ongoing, which leads me to announce that there is a second short film on the horizon. It is a horror short, again written and directed by me, and with an even smaller cast this time of just one, a fantastic find by the name of Rio Notra. This is her.....
She will be playing Steffie. The plot is, Steffie visits her mother for the first time since Covid regulations have been relaxed, a good couple of years. It is time for her to leave, but when she does, she realises that she's left some of her work files at her mothers place. When she goes back to get them, however, her mother has vanished.
Again, this will be shot on OnePlus, and this time it'll be shot on location in the Western Cape of South Africa, a beautiful part of the world and one which provides production value whatever the weather. Budget is key, so there will only be one location, but already the screenplay and storyboards are looking exciting. Stay tuned!!!!
