When it came to the overall process of creating this film, things moved along at a slick old speed. Each day provided space to get something else done, or to solve, or to research, and of course, space to learn about all the things I know nowt about. Before I knew it, that weekend in Febuary came and went,a dn it was post-production time. There is obviously no sort of time limit to this part of the filmmaking process, but I guess the sooner its done the better, for everyone concerned. I rattled through what I thought was about 80-85 percent of the edit and even have a loose, out-of -context version to fanny around with, but then, tht is where the adrenaline has worn off and the questions and the concerns and the uncertainty has begun.
Currently, the edit has stayed under wraps and unfinished. A second more streamlined and posibbly more theatrical second edit has been discussed, with help and input from producer Jenna and co-star Janna. Time has been at a premium, so that has meant that the process has taken a back seat to life in general, but this new second edit is going to be explored soon, with the hope being that it won't have to make as much sense as a conventional narrative short film, but still look cohearent and a bit more polished. New sound and dialogue has been recorded, and an idea is firmly in place. The whole process has been fun, but it is full of twists and turns, and this is one particular twist that I didn't anticipate.
